What is Acupuncture?
The ancient practice of acupuncture has been around for thousands of years; it is a key component of traditional Chinese medicine. It is based on the healthy flow of “Qi” (most often translated as the body’s vital energy) throughout the entire body. It can be used as a preventative medicine to promote general well-being physically and mentally, and can also be used to treat certain common medical disorders including, but not limited to:
Women’s health (PMS, hormone imbalance, irregular cycles, lack of menstruation)
Digestive disorders (abdominal bloating, IBS, constipation, diarrhea)
Pain relief (back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, surgery rehab, injury recovery)
Headaches and migraines
Mental/emotional health (anxiety, depression, stress, grieving/loss, insomnia, PTSD)
Respiratory disorders (cold and flu, COVID19 recovery, asthma, allergies)
Weak immunity and/or general feeling of depletion and fatigue
Sleep disorders or difficulty sleeping
Preventative medicine to combat the everyday stresses of modern life that deplete our system
Acupuncture is recognized by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to be effective in the treatment of a wide variety of medical disorders.
What is Cosmetic Acupuncture?
Cosmetic acupuncture is an all-natural facial rejuvenation treatment which involves the use of tiny needles that are placed in the face. These needles cause micro-trauma to the skin, which signals the body to send collage, blood, and Qi to the area to heal resulting in plump and glowing skin. Use cosmetic acupuncture for:
Fine lines
Wrinkles
Acne
Acne scars
Hyperpigmentation
Dull and uneven skin tone
Redness
Eczema
Psoriasis
Initial treatment includes an intake + skin analysis to determine any concerns and goals of the treatment. A combination of body and facial acupuncture is then done to balance the skin from the inside out and increase collagen production, followed by a Gua Sha + Jade Rolling massage to sculpt facial muscles, increase circulation, drain lymph nodes, reduce puffiness and relax facial tension.
Note: this is NOT a traditional facial with steaming or extractions.
